Sunday & beyond
Bonne Rentrée, Trinity Church Lyon!
”But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head—Christ. From him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part.” Ephesians 4:15-16
For some of us, summer meant rest and slowing down. For others, it brought stress, whether expected or unplanned. Either way, now is the time when the city wakes back up, work ramps up, and it's easy to put our heads down and just get on with our own lives.
But it's also when the Trinity family comes back together. The community that thins out in summer gathers again - and one of the great gifts of following Jesus is that we never do it alone. We follow him together. It's in that togetherness that we're sustained, supported, and able to keep going. As Ephesians 4 puts it, speaking the truth to one another in love is what causes the body to grow.
When we bear each other's burdens, sharpen one another, and speak truth in love, we become more than the sum of our parts — able to reflect the character of Christ, to be his hands and feet in ways we never could alone.
So here's my prayer for this new season: that we'd lean into this community - being quick to encourage each other with God's promises, willing to challenge each other when we're tempted toward bad decisions, ready to bear one another's burdens — so that together we might be a light of Jesus' love, grace, and compassion in this city.
Every blessing in Him,
Craig & the Trinity Team

SUNDAY LUNCHES FOR NEWCOMERS
We know Sunday morning services can feel like a rushed time to get to know each other, particularly if you have just arrived in the city. So we’d love to offer an extended time of fellowship once the service ends, over lunch, at someone’s house.
For every Sunday from Rentrée (6th September) through to the Vacances de la Toussaint (18th October) there will be one household ready to welcome newcomers for lunch. Don’t be shy about inviting yourself, or mentioning it to any new folk you happen to meet at church.
Specific details will be shared as each Sunday approaches.
WEEKLY OPEN HOUSE FOR ALL
Craig and Becky are opening their home on Sunday evenings for a relaxed, drop-in gathering. Whether you’ve been away for the weekend, missed morning service, or simply want to unwind with church family, you’re always welcome. Come as you are!
